Pull-the-DOT® snaps are used exclusively with my IWB holsters. They operate
a little differently than standard snaps. Here are some pictures of how
they work. I've also attached a short video of the process.
If you look at the bottom of the cap you will see a little nub on the bottom of the ring
This nub needs to be started up under the ridge of the stud when attaching, like this -
Then push the top of the cap down over the other side of the stud and you will hear it pop into place
The
proper, and ONLY way this snap can be undone is by reversing this
process and pulling or pushing the top of the loop off first. Forcing the snap to be undone from any other direction will likely ruin the snap and or the loop.
The
reason these types of snaps are used is because they are far more
secure than a standard snap. These will not inadvertently unsnap on you
if the snap is under pressure from things like bending over and your
belt is pushing against it or getting snagged on something.
